Changes in Colorado Cannabis Laws

News
They say in a New York minute, everything can change. Maybe it’s Colorado’s location far away from the hustle and bustle of the East Coast, but in the first Colorado year of legalization, not much changed in the way of amending the Colorado Constitution to properly continue to regulate the once illegal plant. After the first Colorado legislative session of 2015, however, the trend of amending previous marijuana laws has taken off. In the first session alone, two bills - a house bill and a senate bill - have already been approved by Governor Hickenlooper. In addition, two more bills - again, one from each branch of the legislature - are currently sitting on the Governor’s desk, and are expected to be approved as soon as the legislature reconvenes for…

Strain Review: Girl Scout Cookies

Strains
There has been a lot of hype about Girl Scout Cookies lately. No, I'm not talking about the delicious snack you eat when you have the munchies. I am talking about the delicious substance that gives you the munchies. That's right. There is an actual marijuana strain called Girl Scout Cookies. Upon discovering this, I knew that I had to try it. When I initially got my hands on the strain, it smelled quite potent and had a lot of crystals. It was quite obviously a hybrid, judging by the appearance, and there was no way to tell what I felt was more dominant until I medicated with it. It was a bit of a creeper, meaning it took awhile to kick in properly, but I felt sativa effects, primarily,…

2015 Denver Cannabis Cup Review

News
It’s time to stop calling the Cannabis Cup a “Cup”. The name implies the competition is inclusive and unbiased. Renaming the iconic meetup the ‘Cannabis Expo’ would more properly describe the nature of the yearly gathering. For you see, the winners of the Cannabis Cup simply bought their way to top honors. For the first time in 2015, High Times Magazine - chief owner and sponsor of the various Cannabis Cups around the nation, from Colorado to California - made that inherently clear. Even before the start of the 2015 Denver Cannabis Cup, there was unrest in the newly legalized cannabis community of Colorado. High Times was very exclusive in whom they chose for booths at their flagship event, leading many smaller dispensaries and cannabis products’ representatives looking to make…

Strain Review: Gorilla Glue #4

Strains
I first found Gorilla Glue #4 in a concentrate form when I went into a medicinal marijuana dispensary in Detroit. I had heard about the indica-dominant hybrid winning first place at the 2014 Cannabis Cup in Los Angeles, but I wasn't aware that it was also grown in Michigan. It was very dark in color and had a very strong aroma when I smelled it. It was very clearly indica-dominant, which is what I was seeking. I bought it and took it home. Once I vaporized it, I immediately discovered an array of astonishing psychoactive effects. It was unlike any high that I had ever felt before. It was better. The Plant Itself Gorilla Glue #4, in its plant form, is riddled with beautiful, conical crystals. It is a very…

3 Things I like About the DaVinci Vaporizer – and One I Don’t

Product, Reviews
The DaVinci portable vaporizer is unlike any hand-held vaporizer on the market. Its unique function, design, and wide range of use allows it to compare even to expensive non-portable vaporizers. It sports more features than most portable vaporizers are able to execute, making it one of the best that I've ever used. As a medical marijuana patient, I have tried numerous portable vaporizers for both dry herb and cannabis oil. With the rapidly expanding market, it seems that everybody has a slightly different design or different kind of modifications for their hand-held vaporizers. However, all of them still seem remarkably similar. Most are shaped like a pen, some more bulky than others as they have been tirelessly upgraded with modifications. Others are slimmer with less capabilities. Dozens of companies have…
